Feeling: excited, but lonely and kinda bored at the same time?! sigh sigh.
ha, met up wif uncle chris this afternoon. wanted to buy a digicam, but didnt know much about them...so got uncle chris to tell me more since he's one of the more pro ppl i know who's in this field.
first off, he explained to me about what is megapixels. that is something important if u want a sharp image isnt it? WRONG! thats not all! megapixels can give u sharp images...BUT how sharp, will depend on how big ur picture's gonna be. i took catalogues the other day when i went with keong and teckz...one of them happened to display the exact specifications of a comparison between a 3.2MP and a 4MP...the display picture of a 4MP is 2k++ x 2k++... this size is the size that we adjust in our computer settings to set our desktop's display size...its like....SO DAMN BIG lor!!! even my com is only <1100 x <1100...so...why would i need something so good?! and the details in 3.2MP showed that i can get 1.6K++ effortlessly! thats more den enough for me! so i decided i would keep my specifications at 3.2MP...
next he told me about optical zoom and digital zoom...optical zoom is using the lens itself to zoom and capture the image. this gives a good finishing...digital zoom is simplay magnifying the maximum zoom available...thus, it will come out wif a pixelated effect...which...is really lousy and blur!!! hahaha
den he proceeded to tell me more about camera techniques and functions like red eye blah blah blah. *lazy to type* =p
haven have lunch...so went to compex wif an empty tummy. we walked through numerous booth...nikon...fujifilm...epson...konika...canon...panasonic...olympus... blah blah blah it was so damn crowded i really cant be bothered to walk any more...though it was me who wanted the camera, i should have been more patient wif squeezing through crowds and all, but...HECK i hate the kind of environment i was in. none of the cameras left much good impression on me...finally i decided pentax would be our last station. there, a young lady served me and uncle chris (not bery pretty lah, but looks quite sweet...great service attitude...got a charming smile on her face at all times! nvr seen anyone serve us wif such a pleasant attitude)...at first kinda confused about wad she saying...we wanted to look at one model...but she let us look at another instead...i was like...'wad the...?' den blur blur look at the 'wrong-model'-camera...OH BOY!!!! i fell in love wif da thing at first sight!!! small and stylish. silverish...3.2MP...YES! this is the one! i proceeded to probe more about the camera and started testing it...seems like it has everything i wanted...video recording...still pic...compact...the price was 499. it came wif a mini tripod, remote control, 128mb sd card, a smart card reader and a camera bag. though 499 is quite EX for a 3.2 camera available at compex, none of the cheaper models has its compactability and video recording wif sound! to me, it was a wonderful deal. but kinda found the tripod and remote and smart card reader useless...so we told the lady we need to discuss and left the booth.
finally left the hall for a grasp of fresh air! was kinda staffy inside...felt abit sick...oh well. i didnt bother to get much rest and proceeded to discussing about the camera wif uncle chris...in my mind, i was like...: YES YES YES this is the one! no need to think liao! YES YES YES. but i was kinda hesitant cos im more concerned about the price...uncle chris said: yeah its quite a reasonable price for something like that... ... ... he further proceeded to saying that maybe i should buy a bit later cos if we went to perninsula plaza, we might find a better deal there...but i was already very keen about buying the camera, so when i heard that its a reasonable price, i was very very very delighted. afterall, its xperts opinion ^^ so i said, nvm its ok! i believe this one is good enough! haha. he didnt discourage me further and instead said: alright, since u are so keen, go for it! :D TEEHEE...so glad. went to makan at BK before proceeding back to the convention hall again...HEH HEH my fav...double swiss mushrooms! ^^
went back to the booth. the lady was busy so i didnt bother her. found a guy and told him about my idea of changing the tripod, smart card reader and remote for a free upgrade of SD card to 256mb or a spare batt...but seems like it didnt work... and the guy's attitude was like: kid, go away...dont waste my time... ... ... man, i was pissed...but i didnt xpress it la of cos. hahaha. so i bui song...i went outside again...den tok tok abit more abt the camera...the deal ... blah blah blah...den went in again.
this time the lady is free le...so i approached her. asked her again about my concerns abt changing items for upgrades...cos she seems like a nice person who will help me ask more about it...unlike that shitty old man. after asking her boss, seems like i got the same answer. but, at least i song. she treated me more seriously as a consumer, not like that old jackass. must tok more politely and all lor. YES thats how u do business u see? u must make the consumer feel like he's an important person...no matter how TALL OR SHORT, how thin on fat, how old or young...YES. treat him politely and seriously and all...this way, even if u might not have the best deal in town, u wont be condemned by the customer (like that old idiot)!
so i ended up buying my spare battery, my memory upgrade, and the super compact camera. spent $569 on camera equipment altogether. after that went to fill up lucky draw coupons...after dropping them, asked uncle chris wad his plans were... i wanted to go back in to find a cheap USB hub and buy some CDRs...so...we parted...he went home and i went back into the living hell. went to look for EL whos working at acer first...he was serving a young man and his girl...stood behind him for say 5mins...whenever he turned slightly, i turned 180 degrees. HAHAHA didnt want him to see me as i might affect his concentration wif the couple...after 5 min the couple was still there so i figured i will go greet him later...
went crowd squeezing for ard 30-45 mins...bought a stylish looking 4 way hub for $15 and 100 CDRs for $21. the hub deal was ok-0k only...not very cheap but liked it for its stylish appearance HEHEHEHE. the CDRs were cheap like dirt. but oh well. thats a good thing aint it. HEHEHE. but one thing wierd: there were 2 kinda CDs on sale...one was claimed to have 'warranty'. i mean, why would CDRs need warranty!? i asked the promoter and she said 'oh its jus in case the cd was used before or something...' i was like...HUH! are u kidding? ur selling ppl used items?! omg. is that how u guys do business? oh, i dont care, if i found out that the CD was used before, i'll go straight to ur store, and expect a change in ALL the cds i bought. if not, i shall report it to the consumer's rights. HA. im becoming nasty aint i? but, oh well, i DO have my consumer rights...so i didnt care. bought the one wif NO WARRANTY. haven tried them yet..HMmmm...
went back to ACER to look for EL...oh the couple was gone. he was serving a young lady. once again, stood behind him...den later slowly creep towards him til i was beside him *LOL*... WOW! great concentration! he didnt notice me! WAHAHHA. den he was xplaining something to his customer (didnt bother to hear wad it was) den she went 'oh i see'...i took the chance to make my appearance by saying 'so des neh' WAHAHA. at first his performance was great...like a professional! cos he didnt bother much about me for the first 10 seconds...(yes thats the way! ^^) BUT after that he was saying something to the customer and suddenly turn to me and ask 'HORRRRRRRRRR'. think he was saying something and trying to get me to back him up. MAN. that was so unpro! (no offense) it was a great start! but why did he do that! and he further proceeded to explaining to his customer that im his fren. oh geeZ. as a fren, yes its quite nice...i appreciate it yeah but...from a customer's point of view, if she's a nasty person, she'll be thinking like 'wad the heck? he's ur fren? is that MY BUSINESS? i jus wanna noe more abt the lappy. to hell wif ur fren...i dont care!'. EL...im not lecturing u lah, but, as ur good good goood good fren, i got to advice u on this...cos u r working mah...must present a professional image...so...next time dont do this again ok? hehe. but kinda appreciated ur intro to the gal lah...shows that i more important den ur customer and that lappy ur selling...muahaha... :X hehe. as u were still serving customer, i dont wanna disturb ur business...so i jus turned my back and walked off as though i was a stranger...hehe. like abit cold, but...im being the bad guy for ur good ^^ hehe. after that went to visit POON at the toshiba booth...HA he was toking to his colleagues -__- so i nvr hestitate to disturb him muahaha. at first pretended to be consumer...nvr tok to him jus look at lappy. den he noticed me! haha. den say 'ooi wad u doing here' blah blah blah. i jus bo chup him like he toking to wall. hahaha. den he told his fren im gay. -_-! wad the heck. hahaha. den i start to tok to him lol. seems like he's got pretty good sales records...thats y he's slacking...HAHAHA. good for him...but i heard the commission aint bery much...oh well...i wont noe abt such stuff :) hehe...but at least see that u r doing something meaningful wif ur free time instead of playing PT, felt happy for u...add oil wor...^^
thats abt my trip to compex...went home to play ard wif my camera a bit...will only be able to start taking pics tml morning...meanwhile studied a bit for PLC...about 1 hour...den came to use com write blog. hehe. think i shall go to bed le. tired after running around for one whole day. hehehe...night night...poon...add oil...chat ur way back to compensate for those lost hours during ur peroid of working... =) good luck!
